Fishing remains sporadic on most lakes in the Ely area, likely due to several factors.
The weather, including rain, wind, and cold fronts have kept many people from hitting the lakes as much as they'd like to.
The water temps continue to be cooler than normal, which appears to keep the fish spread out with Walleyes being taken in anywhere from 6 to 20 FOW.
Small Mouth and Pike action is also slow, and it seems that the bass didn't spawn in many areas.
Action does pick up on occasion, with many nice fish being taken.
The forecast looks decent and seems to be stabilizing which should help the situation.
