Title: fishing fall report
Post by: Bobby Bass on September 09/19/14, 02:16:23 PM
I have been out and about and the water has cooled about ten degrees in the past week to 59 or so north of Two Harbors. Bass have been eating up slow rolled spinnerbaits but not to many takers on buzz baits. Northerns are active with my biggest this last week a 31 incher that ate a spinnerbait just at sundown. Warmer weather coming this week so water temp should stay where they are at. Will get out several times this next week as this is when I love to fish. Skeeters are still around but I think the black flies have finally moved to go find the grouse hunters !

Well the Puddle Humper does have a trailer and we do travel from time to time. In the last week I have been north of Two Harbors and East of Cotton, tomorrow may find me in Pine county but everyone knows that Lake Iwanttobethere is located in  Fish County   :laughroll:

Have been out twice the last two days, fall color is blowing up around here and the bite is getting better. Have been throwing big spinnerbaits and have caught five bass over 17 inches with the biggest a 19.5 not many little bass at all. Bigger northerns are also getting in on the action as I caught a 28 incher the other day and my fishing partner got ate up my a big one that he stared down eyeball to eye ball till it straighten the clasp on his leader. Water temp between two lakes 20 miles a part went from 69 to 62 over night but fish are liking the change .Buzz bait bite is good at sundown when the wind dies.

Pike are on the bite, caught 26 of them last night, big spinnerbaits in 4-8 foot of water. Buzz bait bite is also working but not as well... bass are also putting on the feed bag.

With this warm weather hanging on water temps are holding above 60. Top water bite is a little hard as leaves are now falling covering the surface on the quiet bays. Pike are still hitting spinner baits and big spinners with blue blades are working well. Big bass are slamming lures and going airborne when hooked, great fall fishing to be had right now.   :happy1:
