they are a cool bird for sure, might have to get some suet and start hanging it again, fun to watch...

I have a cable strung across from a barn to a tree that is...oohh....30 yards long....
And I have several different types of feeders strung on this cable.
That is one of 3 types of suet feeders I have on this cable.

The last couple years we've had a male 1 hangin around here in the fall. :cool: They're huge compared to their mates

They are interesting to watch,I have one working on a dead limb on my huge silver maple off and on all summer,when he's on that limb its like watching a wood chipper.

Odd, coming home this morning, I saw a large woodpecker laying dead along the roadside. Couldn't tell if it was a pileated...
