Troy Lindner, son of fishing legend Al Lindner, has caught about every kind of fish imaginable in these parts (and beyond), but even he was caught off guard by a recent catch – a "merp" carp landed on the Minnesota side of the Mississippi River. It's created quite a buzz on social media.

People say "Merp is an undefined word used in silence to restart a conversation." Well those people are wrong. :tut:
Merp is the reason we exist. It makes the world spin on its invisible axis. It is the reason we are smart enough to know colors when we see them. However, it is not Merp's fault that what we see as black and gray, is actually colors our brains cant process.
Merp is the way our imagination runs. Without Merp, we would be inconsistent blobs, floating around like a particle of dust.
Merp created the grass and the trees and the sky. Merp is the glue that holds our heads to our necks.
Merp is inconspicious though. It likes to hide in the shadows, for it has fear of what we would do if we found out its other-worldly power.
Merp is the fist that adjoins our strongholds together. Merp is the sun, and the moon. Merp is the butterfly that lands on your shoulder, and the thunder and lightning during the storm.
Merp is the founder of all. Merp is the creator of Science, Math, History, and Reading.
Merp created Time. Time keeps our lives flowing while Merp is busy creating wonderful things.
Merp created light.
Merp created all things good, in fact.
God, you say? God? God is a spectator. God created Merp to create our Universe, while God approved his work and told him how to improve and how not to.
Merp's Father isn't just God. His Father is Buddah, Zues, any religious god or goddess that leads and creates.
Merp created the World Wide Web, which is actually a Spider's Web that it helps us look by on.
Merp created Life. It looks back on your past and to your future to see if you deserve to be given the destiny of taking a child's Life in your hands.
As I said earlier, Merp is the sun and the sky, the moon and the stars, the creator of our society. Merp is he nor she, but both. Merp is the grass and the trees, the bird and the worm, the bees and the honey. It is the owl that hoots at night, and the meadowlark with it's song at day. Merp is the rainbow. Merp is everything we know, yet Merp is the shadow of the unknown.
But most of all, there is a bit of Merp in all of us.
Merp to you all, and to all, a good Merp.
