Same scoring as before, GLENNN! ITS THE COMBINATION OF THE WINNING TEAMS HALFTIME SCORE AND THIER FINAL SCORE. THE CLOSET PERSONS GUESSE TO THAT NUMBER WINS. I WILL BE DIATRIBUTING SAUSAGE AT THE END OF REGULAR SEAON. PLUS ANY I DIDNT GET TO LAST YEAR. as it aint easy to have a stockpile sausage and have it on hand. Stay tuned for the fisrt sept game listing challenge, use barry and i will once again be alternating weeks again.

Please double check our arithmetic. I know it is hard to believe but we are not right every time. LOL You must have the same minimum number of posts as in the fishing contests. I think it is 50.

I'm worried that this will be the Vikings win-loss records over the next three seasons: 6-45.

I had to double-check. We only have Kaptain Kirk for this season and next. He is an unrestricted free agent in 2023. So we are locked in for 2 years, not 3.
I seem to recall the talking radio-heads were saying that it might be easier to trade or cut Kousins in 2022 with a reduced hit to the salary cap, but I don't know how all that stuff works.
The problem is... you need to find someone better than him, and there are only two ways to do that:
1. Draft one, which means bottoming out to get a high draft pick or mortgage future draft pics to move up (AND you have to guess correctly)
2. Overpay for the next available free agent who won't sign long term with his current team (like we did to get Kirk in the first place)

That's just it. Who would any of us want if we dumped Quirk?
-
Okay so I admit I'm not a cousins fan, mainly because he never seems to show up when he needs to most.
He'd be my hero if he'd win big games :pouty:

The ideal situation is to draft a QB who is a top-5 performer right out of the chute and never looks back. You have those guys on their rookie deal for 3 or 4 years and still have money to pay other "star" players. However, players like Wilson and Mahomes and Watson don't come along every year. And for every one of those guys, there 4 or 5 other first-round QB draft choices that don't live up to that standard.
The next best thing is to catch a journeyman QB whose performance level is on the rise. You won't have to pay him top dollar - hope he outperforms his contract - and you still have money left over to pay other player to have depth on your squad.
The worst think you can do - hind sight is 20/20 - is what the Vikes did. Pay top-dollar - full guaranteed money - to a player who underwhelms. You *might* be able to get away with this if your QB makes everyone else better, but Kaptain Kirk ain't that guy. And since there is so much cap space tied up in his salary, you can't afford to pay "depth" guys on your second string; the rest of the team is a bunch of 3rd and 4th stringers. One injury to any key position and your season is over.
Look at them now. The offensive line hasn't improved yet and the linebacking group is woefully thin.
