Anyone here watch the State High School BB tourney the past 4 days.
Some really good BB to watch instead of the college teams.
Last night Wayzata beat Park Grove in overtime, in the final game of the year. A repeat of last year's championship game. Park Grove won last year.
Packed house at the Target Center. Lots of kids in the stands. All 4 championship games were pretty good to watch.

new the girls were in tourney time so i tuned it in. watching Crosby ironton and providence academy. CI had the lead for a bit, now there getting whooped! :doah: they cant hit sheet and Providence cant miss. its halftime.
they showed a stat Providence has won the last 3 state class A titles.

watching th4e class A championship between goodhue and mountion iron buhl......hellofa game!!!!!! they've come a long ways. looks like new champs in goodhue...MIB was last years champs.
think local town Albany is next up!!!!!

I'm watching the ND Boys Class A and Class B State Championship games tonight from Fargo and Minot. Final HS games of the season.

man that class A boys semi final game is a barn burner....triple OT. no idea where either team id from....West Central and Ferile-Beltrami!

Yup.....watched it. Kind of game love to watch if you don't care who wins. Don't want to be a parent sitting on the edge of my seat watching that.
Fertile has to be ready to play again tomorrow morning at 11:00.
Watched the first one.....Cherry is really good. Those 3 brothers are good. The older one is a U of M commit.Mr Basketball finalist. Cherry scored over 100 points 10 times this year. Averaged 92 points a game.... That's NBA averages. 3 times in the sections last week.

All private schools need to play 4A class. Recruiting players is :bs:.
Maybe I'm way to old school but how does a high school kid get at tatoo.

Nope.....my grandkids go to a private school in Moorhead. About 50 in a class. The school is 1A and play 9 man football. You can't force them to play 4A. They might as well not have a team.
You think public schools don't do the same down in the metro area??? Hopkins for instance??? Kids move around to the best teams all the time. No different than the College portal system.

You are talking the whole state. Not all private schools are in the Metro area. Smaller ones don't deserve to be in 4A.

first off this is the BB thread
basketball can only have 5 players on the court.
fact is the only sport that has this 9 man class is football...... and i agree not all private schools are metro.
and i dont disagree with you on most of this.......but look at the boys and girls state tourneys....most except for class A and not sure there either the top teams are private that win it.
it can be said with hockey also!!!!

Your point is because of recruitment. All I'm saying is recruitment goes on in Public schools just as much as private. So we should then go back to 1 class to be fair. Like when you and I were in High School?
I went to high School in Waconia. We had 110 kids in my class. Our conference matched up against the Lake Conference in tournament play.. NOT ONE in our conference EVER won the first game against those big schools. It needs to stay the way it is.

Ok....I was in Junior High. The little town from southern Minn who beat the big boys at Williams. Small schools all over celebrated that occasion.
