Title: peeps bad?
Post by: JohnWester on April 04/18/06, 12:35:25 PM
my sister had here lab over the other day for easter and she(the lab) proceeded in inhaling the kids peeps(marshmellow/sugar coated bunnies) off the table.  She ate about 6 before I could get them away.  She should be ok, right?

Mines gotten into worst things. ;D

I wouldn't worry about it besides her being a little hyper from the sugar, just make sure to take her outside often for a few days. ;)

Peeps....those things are nasty, of course I'm not a big fan of anything with marshmellow in it. Although I can be talked into the occasional S'more. ;D

The dog should be fine.

I would have to agree that the dog should be fine.
It is some what of a wives tail about things like Chocolate with dogs.

There is a chemical in Chocolate that can up set a dogs system and if they were to eat a ton of it there could be a very bad out come.

But my vet told me that it would take a fair amount of chocolate to do in a dog.

So the marshmellow peeps shouldn't hurt the dog, might give the dog an upset stomach ,the runs and maybe some bad gas.

Just watch the dog close for a few days and make sure it is still acting normal.

If you are ever in fear of what your dog has eaten just get her/him to drink some hydrogen peroxide.

It works wonders! That dog will have everything out of their stomach in about 3 minutes! Make sure you are outside when you perform this.
