Title: Tackle Swap
Post by: DDSBYDAY on March 03/18/13, 08:30:19 PM
Looks like it is time again.   :banghead: :banghead:..  Too much snow, too cold, can't hunt, can't fish.  Might as well  :toast: and see if Fawkinnae has any cigars left.  I'll bring the MNO bumper stickers, buy the first round, and bring some cool soft plasticbaits I have been working on for this summer.   :happy1:

The only thing I'm not sure about is what time saturday

Lentz - we'll see who's interested and then figure out which day is best and time. Boar - it's a great excuse to meet a few MNO folks (and bar patrons who get sucked into the party). Talk about fishing and swap (or give away) some tackle. The standard meeting place has become Axel's in Blaine.

Well we had another successful MNO tackle swap and rules committee meeting.  The Fawkinnator held the gavel at this meeting.  We were fortunate to get Kenhuntin up to the Bonfire for a  :toast:
The staff took us right to the VIP lounge.  We talked strategy and RULES!!   ;) :rotflmao:

A couple of things we discussed were

  1)  The weather this spring sucks
  2)  How much we like fish boards for pics in the fishing challenge
  3)  How fish boards are strongly or highly recommended in this years open water challenge.
  4)  How fish boards could possibly be required in future challenges.
  5)  How to find a real hairy guy to volunteer to test the adhesive of the Fawkinnae and MNO
bumper stickers ****for a promotional video :doah:

The hairy guy thing is so brilliant that it still scares me (and you can only guess where the conversation started). And we managed to NOT distress any of the prom kids at the restaurant.

I think we talked about some really great rules where only a team mates girl friend can enter a fish in the Challenge - but only one. So for one person to enter 3 fish they would need 3 different wives or girl friends or husbands...

I suppose we would not have to limit it to a hairy guy.  I know the General has had a few girlfriends in his past that donated the hair off their backs for locks for Bigfoot.  :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

I don't have time to whip up anything new but I should be able to bring some stuff to the table.  I can put a couple of skirts together if someone has any special color requests.  Not the kind Greatoudoors wears.  The kind that goes on spinnerbaits and bass jigs.  TGO and the General can swap the other kind of skirts between themselves.  I will have limited edition MNO Official bumper stickers with me just in case a  :woot: causes a suppression of someones estrogen level.  :whistling:

3:30 pm Sunday is the time.  Bonfire in Blaine(35w and Lexinton) is the place.  HD is in charge of bringing the babes.   :happy1:

Boar we run this kind of like a game show. DDS gets up and tells us what the lure is that will be considering. Then he says, "Would you like this 12" rubber worm... or would you like the lure that HD has behind his back right now!"

You can always call in and ask what the current hot bait is and offer up a swap or a bid or you can buy a round of beers...

To all staff members (and members) If you can make this event I strongly recommend that you show up so we can discuss the changes going on at MNO and how we will be moving forward.

So, Lee....get yer  :moon: on a bus man...we need you there!

The offer sounds very nice but, I figured I'll have to ask Borgie first. This is kind of how the discussion went and it sounds tempting.

Well the tackle swap is over.  HD came through with the talent.  Not a lot of tackle was swapped though.  We lit the place up.  We started out in a private room off of the main restaurant and were having so much fun the management said they would buy us a round if we would take our party out into the main room to liven it up a for them.  After a confidentiality agreement about pics or video we agreed.  ( Sorry Lee)  If I had to give a name to this years tackle swap I would call it the year of the " yozuri twitchin minnow".  They were being passed out by the case.   When HD asked if this was everyone that would be coming the Yosuri's came out.   I think I may have left a case on the top of my car when I drove away.   :doah:  Oh well.  I don't know what I am going to do with all the ones I still have.   It was good to see you guys again.  It was especially nice that Wyofish made the drive from North Dakota just to make it to the meeting.   :happy1:

On a side note we did get tips for the Ricky Bobby day at Stokkes Bay from a very reliable un-named celeb. ;)

An update from the clubhouse.  The other group of that 15 came in all ordered steaks, complained about everything and you guessed it- pretty much stiffed the waitress.  Non of the group even bought dinner for the parents 50th anniversary.   They had to buy their own.  It looks like we should have pulled the curtain open and sent them a happy anniversary   :moon:.

It really wasn't hard to tell the way that party acted from the get go that they were just going to be miserable no matter what happened. They wanted someone else to pay the meal because it is an anniversary or birthday or whatever. They have a lot of rights but no responsibilities.
I am just glad I got more twitchen minnows. And it was good to see you old boys and sons.

She is a loyal Fawkinnae member and outdoorswoman.. Her and Husband pack up the five kids and spend winter weekends on ice in their 27 foot ice castle. She received full respect from us especially after she paid for a round. Tackle swaps are awesome!
