Seriously not sure if I'd put nuttin bigger then a 4 horse on a canoe. Maybe a trolling motor!

I would think something like a 5 or 6 hp would be awesome. OR actually an electric trolling motor would be pretty nice too. The battery would last a long time since the motor would push the boat easily. I used to canoe a lot. Ended up doing a lot of swimming, but that is cuz we liked to tip the canoe and practice getting it righted and get back in it. We were kids then. Bringing it to the GTG?

Years ago a buddy and I went up to Eden Lake up in Canada. Awesome adventure.. His dad and another guy were the ones who created the trip. Well they had a boat and we had the canoe and went and found our own island for a few days. We had an old 10 hp motor on his square stern canoe. When he opened it up I was 3 feet off the water and it was a complete balancing act. I was in front of course. I didn't dare even look over the side as it would have tipped us over. Sure was fun though.

Don't forget to check the max HP and weight ratings on it.....sq sterns usually have HP ratings.

lol, yeah maybe the river.. primarily its for my dughter and wife to mess around witb, but if can get all my ducks in a row, nextbear season i plan on doing a wilderness bear hunt up the big fork river, i pine island state forest.

I've got a 200 h.p. Johnson that ought to push that along just fine, although trolling might get a little sporty.

I had a canoe just like that one boar.I only had 1 choice of motor to mount on it, young an poor,Was a 5HP Johnson the old cream and maroon colored with the fuel tank on top a the motor.It was over powered! squirrley when alone and even with a front seater at full throddle.I think max HP suggested se 2? 3 HP,Glenns got the perfect motor for it a 3 HP evinrude,
I have a few sets of paddles if needed and a 65lb thrust older minnkota elect.
I been wantin an lookin for a johnson or Evinrude 3-4 HP for a while now,They are hard to find!! Offer Glenn 25 bucks for his and have him deliever it :sleazy:
