He took it to a manual car wash and used the high pressure soap option and did not rinse the PU. The soap residue froze on the sides before it was able to run off.

I'll havea agree with thisc. But, zoom in on the areas...the heavier is at the "top" of the smears, like it was "pushed up" with a sponge, and left, as you can't see where it would have run back down and left a track......
Unless he's got deer or something licking the salt off, as they'd lick "up".
