I made me late getting out to a bear blind, but the show was worth it. While getting ready to head out, a bunch of deer and turkeys started feeding in the food plot. I decided to watch and see how things played out. Interestingly they just ignored each other for about 20 minutes and then one doe decided the turkeys must be getting the best food so she ran over to them and started feeding. This agitated the turkeys a bit and one hen went and stood guard between the deer and her chicks. This stand off lasted a while until she tried to chase the doe away. After a bit of stomping and snorting the doe ran back to the other deer. First time I saw a turkey challenge (and win) a standoff with a deer. I got some video of it but don't know how to post a video. I lost about an hour in the bear stand but it was worth it.

Way cool deadeye! On one of the last corn yield estimates I did yesterday there was a group of 8 or 9 jakes in front of me that sauntered off into the adjacent woods. Between the deer and turkeys the combine runs pretty quiet on the first 12 rows of corn.
