I have an upcoming 🍎 tree in the back yard. I got a dozen apples from it this year.....then this happens.... I hope it can recover from the damage!
-
Is that a buck rubbing or are they nibbling the bark?
-
It's a buck rub....
-
I think you will be getting a new apple tree next year, that is a shame...

I reckon his bed post looks an awful lot like that little apple tree trunk. Well, mine does, anyway.

You have to protect them like this. Haven't lost a tree to deer yet.

fruit bearing trees?
-
Yes, apple and plum trees. I have quite a few of them and like I said, have not lost a single one to the deer.

HD. I thin if you put a wrap around the tree where it is rubbed off it may recover. Do it now while it is dormant.
