i just took a good look at the anterless permits for out area................ :confused: :doah: :banghead: they reduced the permits in out areas.
our group hunts 2 different permit zones. 197 and 169
last year 197 gave out 750 permits.......this year 500
last year 169 gave out 500....... this year 250........gonna be slim venny supply me thinks this year........might have to sneak across the border and hunt my stepdads deer herd?????/

197 is the Leech Lake Indian Reservation. There are never many permits available in this zone.
Zone 172 to the south has 2000 permits.
Zone 179 to the east has 2500 permits.
Zone 259 to the southwest has 2000 permits
Zone 184 to the west has a 2 deer limit.
But I guess there just aren't many antlerless deer in the middle Zone 197 - only 500.
I wonder who makes those decisions. :scratch:

I was wrong, and corrected this post.
Licenses go on sale Aug 1. Deadline for antlerless applications is on September 9.
If they work it this year like last year, if you purchase a license for a lottery zone, you are automatically entered (even if you don't want to be) as long as you purchase your license before September 9.
The August 20 deadline is for special youth hunts.

Well Glenn I hunt the 604 area. If you need some venny to make it through the winter, let me know. We could probably find some place for you to to knock down a slickhead and there offspring, or you could go ditch diving with Boar.

Yea it is the res, but they've been handing out more permits for that area then 169, lately and that's where my brother hunts.

i for the life of me cannot find the map of the permit zones and where they list how many permits are to be doled out this year for each zone!!!!!!! :banghead: :banghead: training-087 :pouty: :pouty: :confused:
i did however discover that the zone i hunt 197 and the zone my brother hunts 169 are new CWD monitoring zones. :confused: :pouty: BUT this doesnt make no sense........ you shoot a deer Nov 6 or 7 its manadatory testing, the rest of the season its voluntary.......how effin stupid is that................ :crazy: :crazy: :crazy: :doofus: :doofus: :doofus:

zone 197 is 500 my brothers zone is 250........we have me the nhe has and thats unusual!!!!!! :coffee: :scratch:

MN RACK ATTACK......... think i will be taking you up on your offer. looks like it will be between the 2nd and 3rd weekend of firearms. i would also assume i would need to buy a permit for those also ???????????????????????/

Why glenn, why do you put yurself thru this every year, i think you could use you time more wisely, like go to the range,. Learn deer behavior ect. Puttong on blaze orange dose not make yu a hunter, it make you a orange muffin head

Yes Barry. Your initial license is good for one either sex deer. The bonus license is good for antlerless only and you can use 2 of those in 105. I laways buy 1 of each right away. That way if I shoot a doe 1st I still I have my either sex tag open.

What's the fee for the additional anterless tag??? Haven't had much time to investigate, been working up a storm :pouty: :confused:
