Title: propane winter prices
Post by: mike89 on August 08/12/21, 07:53:25 AM
just wondering what others seeing..  I just contracted mine for $1.35..  I do own my own tank so that helped..  it would have been $1.45...   heard as high as $1.74..   years ago I used to have Ferrell gas, best thing I did was drop them...  I get mine from Rahn's out of Melrose...

We paid $1.39 last year and $1.65 this year.  That is prebuy for winter.  If the rack price is lower at the time they do fills we get it at the lower price.

We paid $1.10/gal last year. Our contract for this year is $1.59/gal. Only use it for heat.

Got our winter fill a few weeks ago & I believe it was $1.39 for us too, we own our 500# tank as well. Ours comes from the Cenex in DR now & we too got rid of Ferrell when we built new. That's when we bought the bigger tank as well. With our dual source heat what we just got should last us pretty close to a year.

we just paid 1.44 same place as Gunner, the cenex in deer river. we also own the 500lb tank. when my brother called they said it was a special. we only fill it once per year and we have no contract or auto refill. we call them once a summer, tell them when there in thearea to come fill it........they probably wont get in there in the winter.

No, not for sure but it seems like it was the 3rd or 4th week of July as it was before the weekend of all the storms .

that might be about the time my brother talked to them and requested the fill. they said that price was good for a certain time based on when you ordered it and not when it was delivered.

all i know is some of this stuff transferring the names on the accounts were a PITA!!!!!!!

Went through a lot of that as well, getting Mom's name off 'em. Brother said Paul Bunyan & NIEC were both a bit of a PITA.

You needed to contact them by July 1st in order to get the summer sale price & it took them ~ 3 weeks to get out here as they knew that we were in no danger of running out.

Had to run up to Richmond to do a few things. Filled a 20 lber, was $19.28. the dollar general had exchanges for $22.00.

I need to fill 2 more but I'm waiting till I go to paynseville at the fleet supply. There the cheapest around. Besides I gotta see if there gonna let me renew my driver's license.  :sleazy: :rotflmao:

I think ours is $2.09 too.  With off peak dual fuel it is cheaper to use electric when propane is over about $1.89 here I believe.

Ever since you posted this I have wondered how many people still use fuel oil.  I am sure some do and I feel for them.

Still a few around here using fuel oil too including my adopted 93 year old mom. Think that one's a hot water baseboard boiler system too. Crazy.
