Good luck Boar.  Several weeks ago, I moved a stand to my new "bear spot".  Today I put some carpet on the stand and setup the bait station. Just threw some stuff in the barrel. I will have to get serious in a week or so. I forgot to take a picture but did put up a trail camera on the bait location.

Yes, good luck guys.  It looks like a ton of work in the heat and bugs.

I go early in the day and it's not bad in the woods. Still some deer flies but manageable.

I love bear hunting with all of it's parts that need to be done.  It is a lot of work and shooting one when it is warm out makes it even harder to do.  It is just as big of a rush to just see one even if it is not a shooter.   The wife runs the trail cams as I check the baits.  She brings the laptop to the bait so we can see what was there.  It is great to see her whisper to me "bear".   LOL   I haven't gone for 3 or 4 years now.

Cell coverage is too spotty to justify using this type of camera. Then there is the cost and time used to keep up with the activity. I have 8 cameras out now and will add 3-4 more when the leave turn. It would be a full-time job monitoring all the cell cameras.  :rotflmao:
A friend had some camera that has a "master" "slave" function where 4 slave cameras would send pictures to one master. He never got them to work correctly even with the manufacturer rep on site. Also, they had to be within 1/4 mile from each other.

Went to buy a bear license today. I told the agent I want a bear license for area 451. He poked around a bit and then said you can no longer buy a license because there are no surplus licenses available. I told him the rules for area 451 which is not a no-quota area however, anyone can buy a license and there is no limit to the number sold. He got huffy and said he knows what he is doing yatta yatta. I ask for a copy of the Hunting Regs, and he said they don't have any. I called the DNR and after the normal runaround, the guy on the phone told the agent how to sell me my requested license. Schech, always an issue with buying a license.

so boar........i will assume you dont do anything with the hide. have you tried finding someone to take it for any reason. it seems a total waste of the hide?????

when i get my next bear i have no idea what to do with it. already got a rug, shoulder mount and 3 pillows made from 2 hides.

So, the bear could see your camera wasn't positioned correctly so he had to climb on the barrel to give you a good photo. Cool.  :rotflmao:
