What are you fishing for, what species?

Panfish, I sue those little styrofoam weighted bobbers, I pitch them around lilly pads or reeds, they also work great for casting and slowly reeling them in. i like the weighted ones for control. I usually have the bobber a small splitshot and a red/white tube jig, adjust the bobber to the correct depth.

For Walleye, I use the JR's Tackle lighted slip bobbers.
Bobber, slip knot and some type of jig or plain red hook.

NG you must mean a belly boat, I use one when I go trout fishing with a fly rod.
Got some flippers to move around with and some waders, the insulated ones.

It's fun, specially on small lakes that don't allow motors.
