Protecting Our Way of Life

I live in Washington State and some friends and I are trying to figure if other states are amending their state constitution to protected Hunting and Fishing forever. Instead of saying it's a privlige to saying it's a right. I believe that it is our right. Our Forefathers hunted and fished. To me we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for hunting, fishing and farming. It's our heritiage and a culture and it despertly needs to be protected. Our state is one of the worst there is. Majority here doesn't hunt and doesn't think we should be able to hunt. Government up here isn't on our side or there's they say, but come on we all know what's true. Any info on other states or your guys state on that would be greatly appreciated.

I see some read this, but no input. Pretty amazing!! We as outdoors should know this is our dutie to protect what we have. Doesn't matter what state your in. If just one state starts to abolish hunting or fishing it sets a president. Our culture needs to ban together through out the 50 states and say here we stand as many and unite as voice to be heard. I konw there is other states right now fighting to keep what they have. Think of it this way fight if not for yourself, fight for your kids, your grandkids and all of the kids that are going to have to bear the brunt of our mistakes. I know some of you think well this is a pipe dream it will never happen, how do you know if you don't try. So come on and help the greater good here our kids.

 You are rite that the sports poeple in your state have to ban together and fight for this. If I'm not mistaken I belief MN has already past a rite to hunt law which included penealties for hunter hasrrasment. A indevedual sports person here can lose those rites though trow game violations.
  I was stationed in Fort lewis in the 60's for a short time, you have a beutiful state there with a lot of great hunting country.

A bill for an act proposing an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, article XIII, by adding a section affirming that hunting and fishing and the taking of game and fish are a valued part of our heritage.

Thank you for your input and I'll check your guys out for some ideas. It's hard up here cause to many rather complain than help. So I figured as much  info as I could gather would help us up here. It helps that we all want to protect this and this is worthy of fighting for.It helps that your stae has done this, so that maybe it can set a president that we are not going to lay down. I sent many letters and e-mails and drove around with a sign on my truck doin my part to try to make people more aware when we had to vote on that... and actually was surprised that it did pass.... made me feel better about my fellow Minnesotans... we usually hem and haw and sit on our hands here when it comes to this stuff and just blindly let our polititians decide every thing for us as sportsmen... different groups are still fighting the decision and are calling it unconstitutional, but it did pass, and for that to happen, alot of non-hunting/fishing types had to help vote it in, and we should be grateful/thankful they did....
