Well fishing in the Bemidji area is definitely heating up!

Walleyes are still biting readily on many area lakes on a jig and shiner combo. 5-10 feet of water seems to be the ticket. Fishing has been fast and furious if you're in the right areas.

The pannies are also still going strong. Crappies are still in shallow, 1-7 feet of water was good over the weekend, a FluFlu under a float with or without a crappie minnow worked wonders.

I hope everyone made it out with the beautiful weather and found some fish!

There you go Tim.... ;)

In all seriousness, we were fishing two small bays on a Bemidji area lake. Most if not all of the panfish lakes in the Bemidji area are putting out pannies readily in shallow. Like I said, 1-7 feet of water in a warm water area, like a Northern shoreline, a cabbage bed, or a small bay, is where you're going to find some fish.

Good luck out there!
