Thursday 6/12/08 Report.
Started fishing at 5:00 am today with long time clients Steve, Scott and Mike. These guys are friends going back to school days. The first area we went to Didn't pan out to well unless you were looking for large rockies and gills.

Things started out slow at our second spot just as prior trips this Spring. I always preach patients, so the guys were willing to stick it out until a nice chop appeared and sparked the smallies. Scott had a heavy rep to uphold from prior outings last year and was not about to give up his Championship Belt to either Mike or Steve on this trip. Most of our fish were caught in 16 to 22 ft today with Scott catching 50 percent of the smallmouth .  Slow back trolling seemed to be the way they wanted the bait today.

I have to add this quick note: When I showed the photo of the guys to my wife tonight she asked if that was the father and his two sons. I asked her which one did she think was the father and she pointed at Scott in the middle. Since the guys are all the same age I figured that Steve and Mike would get a kick out of that comment and never let Scott live that one down.  :rotflmao:

Don't feel to bad Scott. At least you were still able to hang on to your Championship Belt from last year!  :doah:

See ya on the water,

Lee

Note: All game fish caught in my boat are released in good condition on every trip.

**There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
