WALLEYE MOON REPORT

For me anyway, the walleye bite really slowed down.  I think it was due to the high winds for several days...25 to 30 mph really turned up the lake...as well as the several storm fronts that went through.  We have had several nice days now and I am anxious to get back out.

We are in the WALLEYE MOON and night fishing is really on my mind.  These are great times to run shallow with floating raps...especially the F11 Vampire.  Exciting stuff!!!  Wife is out of town Friday night and I have the kids with Grandma...I will be out to at least 3 am!

Looks to be a wonderful weekend...so any fishing is great fishing.  I'm still going to recommend The Hole as a started as well as Priest's Point and Halvorson Point.  But make sure to run through the edge of the drop offs at 10 to 12 feet as I think the walleyes will be moving up now.  There has been a great "day bite".  On Monday I went out early morning pulling crank baits in 10 to 12 feet and caught my limit of 8 to 9 ounce sunnies!!  Big sunnies caught all over but there tends to be a higher concentration in the 10 to 16 feet of water...really nice fish and they taste so good!  Crappies are still along the reeds and cabage.  Pike and bass everywhere as always. I caught two 30 inch pike on Sunday along Priest's Point bay!  Nice fish.

Kyle versus Kyla results for the weekend...

Sunday results:  Kyle - 12 Fish / Kyla - 10 Fish (5 walleyes total out of that with two being the 30" pike and two 18" walleye).

Monday results: just Kyle and all I caught were the big sunnies but alot of them!

* We plan to do ALOT of fishing this weekend and should have some great scores for the next report!

Fish On will have a good inventory of crappie minnows, fatheads, Golden Shiners, suckers, waxies, angle, crawlers and much more.  Stop in to get latest fishing updates and Kyle's hand drawn maps to the hot spots (this is a popular item and a must if you want to know right were to go).  We are located two blocks south of the stop lights.  Stop by and say Hi!  Come out for the weekend...bring the family!

Don't forget...Pope County Fair is this weekend with Glenwood Waterama July 23 - 27!  Great reasons to visit Glenwood and go fishing!
