Monday 8/25/08 Report

Today's crew included 3rd year veterans Christine and Bob Brown from Racine. They were a little late this morning due to a wrong turn that took them towards the IL. border. After some brief bickering they were back on track and found Linn Pier.

We started out in 33 fow with limited success and kept moving in at 2 ft depth increments until we hit the sweet spot. The smallmouth activity was outstanding today with plenty of action. They were holding mostly around some nice sand grass clumps with a soft bottom and scattered small 3" to 4'' rocks. When I pulled up the anchor It was holding a fair amount of those rocks.

Our best smallie was 20" caught by Bob on an ultra light. We also caught 3 ugly bullheads and 2 pike. Overall things are looking up with the water temp at 75 degrees.  On this date in 07 the temp was 77. In 06 temp was 78 .

See ya on the water,

Lee

**Fisherman: "Hey, pal! You've been standing there watching me fish for three hours! Why don't you get a rod and reel and do some fishing yourself?" Onlooker: "No, thanks. I don't have the patience for it"
