The Scraping Phase should be on!!!

According to the breedign dates by latitude graph I have (and my own studies in southern MN) - the scraping phase should be on for whitetails in MANY (not all) areas above the 38th parallel. This is when the bucks  are most likely to be semi-predictable (as to time and place) as they travel their rub routes, making rubs and scrapes - and looking for estrus does. It is a great time to hunt near rub routes, scrapes, staging areas and food sources - in the mornings and evenings. Be sure to get there at least an hour before you might expect  to see any deer.

They are starting to scrape in the remer area.  Last weekend we didn't see a single scrape, This sat. we saw one and on Sun there were 5 more that were made that night.  I got a picture of a large 10 and a few smaller 8 and 6's.  All were at night.

They started in the Sandstone area big time. I've seen a lot more scrapes then rubs but I don't wonder into the thickets. The bucks are making scrapes in the middle of our foodplots and using tall weeds as a licking branch. They've done this for a few years now. There really isn't any branches hanging over the plot that they could use so they're working with what they have.

A week ago Saturday I found 2 scrapes on my property in the Mankato area.

They are scraping around north branch and Wyoming. a buddy even saw a buck doggin a doe yesterday morning.
