Does anybody on here use a traditional muzzleloader? I might pick up a hawken percussion front stuffer and I was hoping to get some opinions on powder and bullet choices. I am thinking about using triple7 powder and Thompson/Center Maxihunter bullets. I have no idea what kind of powder load to put in or whether or not to use FFG or FFFg. All of my muzzloader experience comes from inlines using triple7 pellets and powerbelts.

I have been shooting a Cabelas Hawkin .54 cal for 5 years now. I use 120gr. of Pyrodex RS, pre lube patches, and Hornady .530 lead balls. You would be supprised by the accuracy I get out of it.
