Greetings from Leech Lake

Bear with me as I try to figure out how to operate in this tecnologically advanced age.  I know about fishing on leech, but all my time has been in the woods chasing white tails and I'm not the first ever to get out on the ice.  I like to see other shacks out first,  I know the ice was good on the shallow bays before this snowstorm but with all this snow I'm sure that we've had some water leakage under the ice.  I'm going to start chasing some Jumbo Perch around as soon as i fire up the snowmobile and pull out the portable.  Going back in time to this fall the fishing was tremendous, cold and lonely on the lake but the fish were biting after dark really well. Walleye that is.
