I've seen pictures of huge cats pulled out of there. Was down there last year and it's tough with a regular boat. The river boats do really well. I didn't get off the water till 2 AM and it was pretty scary.
Friends are like buttcheeks..........crap might separate them, but they come together in the end.

i chase cats in there everynow and then. they also have some big walleyes and some pike in there also. ive caught alot of different types of fish in there. lots of sand sturgeon some white bass pike walleyes flathead cats blue cats carp. i dont take my boat on there because i know alot of good shore spots so no need to drag out there boat. another good river is the crow river.

the river is a good place to fish i do 70% of my fishing on the minnesota as it is only 2 mile away and i have caught lots of nice fish from walleyes and cats or carp and suckers they are all fun to catch.  the river out by me can be tuff to fish mid summer with a boat as the watter levels drop so low but a good river boat can still make it through if you are carefull

Here are two fun catches from the river for me   the cat is a small one but the little guy caught it so it made it very memorable

Got to love river fishing. I have the advantage of having the Saint Louis river dumping into the  big bay just a few miles from my back door. Walleye, smallmouth, crappies, Muskie and northerns can be had there. I also have a spot that I fish up river and away from the crowds in the summer that has a good population of smallies, waleyes and Northerns. Nothing tugs harder then a river fish!  :fishing2:
