Hello Everybody. We just got our fish houses out last Friday. We have had a little trouble getting them out this year. We have good ice, approx. 2 feet thick, but what happened after the good ice was a big problem. We got the ice, then we got approx. 12 to 14 inches of wet snow on top of the ice, cracking the ice, flooding about 6 inches of the snow on top of the ice. Which made 6 to 8 inches of slush under the 6 to 8 inches of snow that would not freez. We had problems. After several days, many days of fighting with the slush and snow, we finaly plowed a road out to where we set up our fish houses.                                                                   We were booked the week of Christmas through New Years. Had to cancel all reservations. When we finaly got set up, and called the people that were reserved for the weekend, A snow storm was focasted for the weekend. Everybody canceled again, except 2 guys. They arrived Firday night. Fished that night and caught 4 nice keeper Walleye. Had to return a couple lunkers. They also had caught 18 jumbo Perch that they took home with them. They also said they caught a couple Northern. When they woke Sat. mourning, it was snowing so hard, they left. Thats about all I can tell you right now, but as good as the fishing was this summer, I beleive we will have a great winter of fishing.
We have cabins and fish houses available. Cabins, 1 to 3 bedroom. Fish Houses, 8 x 8 with no bunks, 8 x 12, and 8 x 14, with 4 bunks, and 10 x 18 with 6 bunks, kitchenette, Dish TV.

Thanks for the report!  Man that doesn't sound like any fun at all-the past few weeks of slush and storms.  But now that you're out and set up, it's GAME ON!   :fishing2:  :fishing2:
