I finally came to the realization today, that the 2008 hunting season is really over.
Today I took the last of my hunting equipment (shotgun, camo clothes, fanny pack, and misc hunting stuff) out of the pickup.  Now I will sort through it, get rid of not used and broken stuff, make note of anything I will need next year and pack it away for the season.  Reflecting on the past hunting seasons, I must admit it was a great year and will be hard to top next year.  I haven't exactly quit cold turkey, I'm currently planning how, what and where we will be doing food plots this year.  Will it ever stop!  I hope NOT.  :fudd: :archery:
Thanks to all who posted hunting photos and stories.  I have enjoyed reading and viewing others adventures.

not to panic ya... but you only have 8 months to get everything ready for the 2009 season.

season 2008 will be hard to beat.

Don't forget shed hunting.  Maybe your huge buck that you shot has a big brother.
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.

beeker -
I just remembered turkey season so I have less than 4 months before hunting starts.
kingfisher1 -
I planned to try hunting coyote and bobcat but the snow got so deep and the cold never let up. However, it is getting a little warmer,,, hummm.
dakids -
Not only maybe, I know he does.  The one I got was running with another possibly bigger buck.  I will be shed hunting this spring.  Hey, nice picture of your kids with the northerns.
MnDeerStalker -
I plan to hunt turkeys with the bow this year.  That will give me two weeks to nail one.

good luck withnthe bow and the turkeys I plan to do the same and it will also be my first time turkey hunting, there are tons of them around my place and I could have gotten a few during deer season if the seasons would have over lapped but I suppose when the season is finaly open they will be gone like a fart in the wind Oh well we will just have to see either way it will be nice to get back out with the bow! :happy1:

Deadeye.... went thru those withdrawl feelings a week or two ago.... pulled the strap vest filled with shells out from behind my trucks seat....  The real end for me is after the eelpout fest/walleye seasons end... then I get even more depresed & do the yearly end of the season gun scrubbing...   need projects... building a guitar now.... nearly done... ice fishing just enough to keep me from turning to Oprah   ... :rotflmao:  naw...  wont resort to that... ;) aint turkey hunting this year, but Sporting Clays season is right around the corner....  must start... another... project....

That is really strange, I have the same sad feeling. Last week I went through the road trip monster duffle bag and washed everything and put em away. Found some neat things that I thought were lost though  :happy1:

Then this week I said nuts to that idea and booked a hog/varmit trip to Texas for the first week of April  :dancinred:
