Was out there last weekend...caught a couple decent sunnies and an okay crappie for the pan, but that was about it. TONS upon TONS of people out there. Way more than previous years it seems.

I was out on new years eve till about 11:00pm. Way to many people driving around! But I was after walleye. Had caught 4 small ones 2 weeks earlier. A friend spent the night on center and only caught 2 crappies. The crappies are there just might be better fishing during the week. Good luck!!

We have our permanant out on waconia again this year and seem to be having pretty good luck.  In the afternoon from like noon till dark we grab the portable and fish for sunnies and perch in 10-12ft of water.  At night the big house is in 16-18ft and have been catching walleyes and crappies.

i think the big secret on waconia is to stay away from the big crowds, and that is what i do and always have pretty good luck.  Maybe sometime we can meet up out there and i can show you a few good spots.

sounds good to me. i dont understand why people aint off the points around the island and such. and around the edges of the lake, they all concentrate all on that one area.

yeah thats never really made much sense.  There are a few good spots off the island actually.  The reefs are always the main attraction and for good reasons.  Let me know when you want to get out there
