I believe that Mcnabb could be our next QB. Philly has let most of there talent go elseware. They have done nothing for Donavan to keep him there. We give a second and a fourth rounder (next year) for him. Cutler would be a long term solution though.

Cutler is the real deal. I'm a little laery of his whiny tendancies. With all things considered  I think Cutler could do a better job of reading the defense with a blindfold on than T-jack could do tuned into their coordinator!! The vikes need to go and get him, not let him come to them. Maybe that would take the sting out of losing Birk

here is a little something that I saw on bleachor report dot com yesterday. It said the vikings were close to landing Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints. Yes, I said Drew Brees. It went on to say the vikings were willing to deal CHester taylor, Robinson(De), Ryan Cook, and our 22nd pick. Who knows if its for real but thought I'd bring this to light. If that was the deal I'd say go for it. :happy1: :happy1:

that i think is completely false. we would be giving up a ridiculous amount for drew brees..jay cutler is really the only quarterback i want them to get, or possibly brady quinn or derek anderson. those are the only ones.

The only two your really given up is Taylor and our 22nd pick. Quinn and Anderson haven't proven themselves where as  Drew Brees and bring it.

well drew brees is good. he dont have that many years left. and brees is a totally different QB he doesnt fit our offensive scheme. shannahan ran a west coast offense as im told. and thats all Cutler knows so he will not have a hard time learning. also why break up the best tandem RB team in the NFL? we arent deep enough at running back to do that and we arent deep enough at DE to trade one.

my source with the vikings had told me booty was luck not to be cut last preseason. the only reason they didnt cut him was because they traded up to get him and didnt want to look like fools...they dont even think he will be on the squad for 2009

I dont think you can give up Taylor and a first round pick for Brees. He needs recievers to be productive, something we are lacking.

I know that the Saints would never trade him atleast not now. Brees needs recievers? name the big name recievers that he has to throw too. None of them are big names besides Shockey which he didn't do much last season.

Darn Bears just traded for Cutler from Denver.  Plus they sign Orlando Pace to protect his blind side.

Why didn't the Vikes go after Jay with everything we got?

Denver wanted to much from the Vikes for Cutler. Greenwood, a Williams  brother, Taylor and draft picks to boot. Also sounds like Cutler is a little bit of a head case and MN is trying to remove themselves from those types of players. Lets give Sage a look before we look to replace him already. Already gave TJ his chance...

Not to change the subject of QB but where are they going to get to replace center Birk?

John Sullivan the big 300# kid I think he is listed on the depth chart, but I thought they were talking about moving Cook over to, his natural position.. Don't sound like they were looking at doing any trading at the position..

I think that we will be fine without Birk but I was mad he didn't come back.

I will miss Birk also I just hope the Vikes don't. To bad they could not sweeten the pot a little to keep him here but I think he wanted a chance to go out a winner, can't blame him for that.

What makes you think Cutler is going to make the Bears so great?  He didn't take Denver to the bowl with better reciever's in Denver.  I do agree the Vikes shoulda pursued him he woulda made more of an impact here then in Chicago but I don't see him taking the Bear's all the way.  He'll be the only pro-bowl talent on the whole team and probably won't even make it to the pro-bowl this year with no one to throw to!  Even with our poor Qb's I think we'll finish ahead of the Bear's, we just have way more talent!
