Best Handgun??

I am looking into getting a hand gun.  Something thats a great all around gun for target shooting or small game and varmits.  A 9mm was the first option, however I am open to ideas and the best places to look or go for a good deal.  Anybody have any ideas?

This is what my son shoots. A Taurus in 17HMR Cal. with a 2-6 scope. Very accurate within 100 yards and a great varmint gun

Well it's kind of like Ford vs Chevy, everyone likes thiers best.
But I suggest buying one that fits your hand well, is reliable, and is priced at what you can aford to buy.
Keep in mind ammo availability as well, .380 ammo is imposible to find right now, 9mm, .40 s&w are fairly easy to find as is the .38 special and .357 mag.,.44 mag is all over the place.

If your going to use the gun to hunt with, I suggest a revolver just because they are more reliable than the semi autos.They come in all sorts of calibers, but a .38/.357 mag gives you two calibers to use.The .38sp are great for small game and varmints while the .357 mag will get you a deer,and larger varmints even bear if you place the shot right.

The .44mag is also one that can give you a choice of two calibers.The .44special and the .44mag.,the .44 special is good on the small game and varmints while the .44mag will take big game and large vamints.

Both the .38/.357 and the .44sp/.44mag can be found in rifles as well, so that can add to your shooting enjoyment.

If your all about plinking,target shooting, or action pistol shooting, any of the handgun calibers will do the job.Then it is just a mater of what you can aford to buy and what fits you good.

So I hope I gave you some advice that can help you in your quest to buy a gun to suit your needs.

My choice would be a 22, But if you need more I would go with a .380
or 9mm. They are fairly cheap to shoot.
As Benny said, some ammo are scarce right now.
