We have a variety of angling methods and locations that are providing excellent fishing right now.  We have had some anchored and jigging, some drifting and down rigging going on.  We have been fishing in many locations this past week, Garden Island, Long Point, Zippel Bay and the Lighthouse Gap depending on the wind direction.

There were incredible limits of the 18-19 inch Walleyes to take home and a number of the big monster Walleye Lake of the Woods is known to produce.  Tom Haag had the biggest of the week 31 inch 11 pounder.

I don’t have any reports from the Sturgeon tournament but have been hearing many great Sturgeon reports this past week from anglers fishing up river from the Airport to Birchdale.  One report was an angler boated 12 Sturgeon in two hours, largest being 45 inches.

The 10 day forecast looks great.  It is predicted that we are out of the heat and have highs in the upper 70’s for the week.

We are starting to gear up for the hunt club.  This fall should be a great one!

JD i was up there at the resort this week. In the first pics you see on here I helped my buddy
work the boat. Five of those guys were on the the boat. On tues. I also helped out & we got
into them again. The customers wanted some shore lunch so we went into Zipple Bay State Park
and cooked up a batch of fresh fish. Check out the pics. It was a good trip for sure

Yeah, fishing up there is great. My dad and brother took me and the girlfriend out this last weekend to west end reef and garden island. We got out limits of greens and a few bonus browns in half day. Just out cruising and catching up, and fishing. Fishing was great, weather was even better once the humidity and rain moved out.

Make sure to visit Steve and Marissa Theis of Log Cabin Bait and Liquor when ya head up, great people!

Same here~ I'd move up there in a heart beat. Girlfriend doesn't wanna. She's a "I like to be close to everything" kinda gal. But hey, she can clean a fish no problem... Guess that's a start.
