What has been your biggest fish so far this year?  Personally, I have been able to hook into a 28.5 inch 8.5 pound walleye this summer on Leech with a Northland floating jig and a leech on a lindy rig.  One of the "Little Leech Anglers" was able to hook into a 1 pound 10 inch sunfish this summer, which is going to be on his wall soon, he's so proud!  The year still has plenty more fishing to come, so I hope to land a couple more hawgs.  If you have a "big fish" to boast about, we'd like to hear it, or even a good fishing trip story.

Haven't caught what I call a big walleye yet.  Have boated 4 between 27-27 1/2.  I also caught 2 ski's between approx. 43-44".  I also caught my biggest bucket mouth at 20 1/4".

27" Pike (Nothing to write home about)
26.5" Walleye
19" Large Mouth
14" Smallie

I hope to beat all those this year yet.  Fishing East/West RUsh on Saturday and sure could use a big fish or two for the weigh in.  Then Sunday it's the Mississippi in Dayton.

Then bring on fall trolling on Mille Lacs where I hope to get my 35" Pike, first muskie, and a walleye over 30"...

Got my best eye so far this year just a couple weeks ago. A beautiful, fat, golden 30.5 inch HAWG! Caught it in 29 feet of water using a Perch Deep Tail Dancer. Also got a very nice 19 inch smallie on opening weekend. Both fish were caught in LOW! ;D DIRTBALL2 ;)

My best and only big fish this year was a 28 1/4" Walleye out of Basswood fishing with Smallmouthguide.

I also caught a few smallies of good proportions, but to me those don't count. ;D

I guess my biggest walleye this year was a 26 1/2 In my boat the biggest I saw was a 29 1/2 inch walleye.

18 inch smallmouth

no big northerns and really nothing else spectacular.

I caught my first muskie a couple days ago...that was fun

Hit a top water bait and flew out of the water. The thing was actually completely air born twice!

...or how I spent my summer vacation.

Well I caught me a 39" northern (about 17lb.) in Rainy Lake - complete accident while fishing for smallies with a little floating rapala and 6 or 8 lb. line with no leader.
And I caught a 15" crappie on a big old spinnerbait while fishing for bass in a metro lake.

Those are my personal highlights.

I would take "plenty in the 27 range" over a couple over 28, very nice.  It's good to hear that several members are having a successful year.

40" northern caught by my wife but I knocked her down and took the fish away.

Came from Basswood lake in July. 6lb test and #8 hook.
Nice job Kathy!

Why Over 35? Just Wondering.

I cant say they are the biggest fish, but they have some of the best stories ebhind them.

Heres a pic of a 10.4 Walleye released after the streiffs tournament on Lake of The woods. This was just an awesome trip with some real nice fish caught and a lot of fun with the boys up there, and falling out of the boat, blowing the boat up, swimming at 5 am and you name it.

This was a trip I got my Grandpa to go out to mille lacs with me, he hasnt fished that lake in 20 years, so it was pretty cool, we got on a nice average of high slot and over slot fish.

Heres a sub 40 inch pike I picked up off Rocky Reef Last Winter, its still 06. Four pound test line looking for jumbos and some smaller walleyes during the day.

Chris,

I don't know why I picked 35".? Don't worry it's not going on the wall even if I do catch on.? Now a 40" Musky, that's some good eaten.? ?::)

Put a new personal best smallie in the boat last weekend @ ~ 17 3/4 and broke it yesterday with a 19 1/2 from the river.?

17 3/4 - 8/26

19 1/2 - 9/4
