one choice

If you had to decide what you were going to use this year and it could be only one choice...hanging stand, climber, ladder stand, tripod platform, permanent wood stand, or ground blind, which one would you choose and why?

I just went out and purchased the summit goliath SS climber.
the main reason I did was because of my build. the goliath is built to a rating of 350 pounds and a little larger seat and platform areas.
I will probably try it out tomorrow and give a report.
I have my hopes set to comfort and peace of mind. I allways used my other climber, but the rating was to 300 pounds and I know I pushed the envelope a little bit :-[
just waiting for that one weld to break, or cable to give out. a guy wouldn't have much notice :o
I guess the climber would be my choice, but I am glad I have about one of each because there are so many different situations during the couple of months of deer hunting.

 ??? if i had to chose a stand ? it would probably be a portable hi rise stand on wheeles. about 12 ft high? with a 4ftx 4 ft platform sides and roof with drop out windows on bungie cords and propane hearter. pulled around with the 4 wheeler as i do not trust factory built stands for the same reasons!!! one friend killed because of a weld and one hurt from a colapsed ladder pipe on a ladder stand.? :(

Ground blind, I have benn sitting on the ground now for five years and still have deer walk right up to me.

They are always looking up, hardly ever do I see a deer looking around and not look up at least a half dozen times.

Of coarse you have to maintain a sent fee environment around you but a little time spent washing the cloths,body and using cover sents goes a long way.

For the private property I hunt ever year I use ladder stands and Alot of them. That way you don't have to move them all the time and they stay up all year.
 
  When i go mobile to a friends or public land. I find a climber along with a ratchet  strap works best. Just don't forget your small saw!

  I know you said to only pick one but i think thats asking to much. You only need one arrow one bow one good shot. but dam you need more than one kind of stand don't you.
