I didn’t think it was possible to have a better season after I arrowed the nice 9 point on 11/1/2009.   Opening morning of the gun season we took three nice bucks. Through Tuesday morning we saw over 60 deer with lots of does, fawn, and small bucks.  All the deer we saw were in the woods with nothing on the fields.

I got this 8pt with 18 inch spread on 11/7/2009

My son's brother in law got his largest buck ever on 11/7/2009

My brother in law got this nice 9pt on 11/7/2009

Great job DE.  Were any of the deer the one that you bounced your arrow off of ?  What did they all weight?  Are you done for the season?  Great deer and the pics are pretty good too.

I checked them all and none had any sign of a prior hit in the antlers with my arrow.  The 4 bucks including the one I got with the bow weighed between 158 and 162 pounds.  My guess is they were relatively young deer.  Maybe we will have to let them get to 200 pounds before shooting them.  Good news is I know of three nice ones still out there.  My son and brother are still going to try and get one but I don't think I will.  Being no one shot a doe, i shot a small one (100 pounds) last Monday.

Hey Deadeye...... whos the poor guy/girl who got their tag filled by you??????  Must be nice too shoot more then one buck in a year.

I dont want so sound mean,  but this is why the dnr is looking at banning party hunting.

But in that same note,  man those are some nice bucks and it seems like you are doing a well with your deer heard.

Big 6 Buck,  I can under stand peoples frustration with some one taking more than one buck in a year.  Although I am totally for party hunting, I wouldn't object to a regulation not allowing party hunting for bucks.  We hunt in an intensive harvest area so we each generally purchase a bonus tag.  Nobody had to quit hunting because they tagged a buck.  Because I not longer have a buck tag, I will be doe hunting only when/if I go bow hunting.

Yup, that's the beauty of party hunting.  You fill tags and have a great time doing it.  My group I hunt with are meat hunters so we have no problem filling each others tags.  We don't, however, fill another members tag on opening day, that's up to the tag holder to fill.

Deadeye, congrats on a great season.

Deadeye, I am jealous!  Nice season so far!  If there is anyone out there who needs a camp Bi@tch and will let me sit in their crappiest stand let me know!  I only dream of seeing bucks like this in a few years at the new place I am hunting now!  Great going Deadeye!!
