Dick Beardsley?s Guide Service (218-846-9230) The largemouth bass fishing has been fantastic in the Detroit Lakes area the past week! They are hitting just about anything you?re throwing at them - from surface baits to fishing the deep weedlines with plastic worms. Many of those fish have not spawned yet so please practice catch and release on these great fighting fish! The walleye bite is starting to pick up with the fish now pretty much in their summer patterns. The deep weedlines and breaks using a Lindy rig and leech or crawler are working well. Pelican, Big Cormorant, Lida, Lizzie, Crystal, Round, Little Bemidji, are all kicking out some fish. The bluegill bite remains strong on area lakes in the shallow water areas. The crappies, for the most part, have moved out into deeper water and in and along the deep cabbage.
