Fished Thurs 9/28 with Bill Barron And his pal Logan. We started at 6:00 am with some trolling passes pulling spinner baits at 2 mph. Logan popped a 30 1/2 inch pike. Soon after that Bill whacked a 32 incher and a 28 inch. We had 4 more lost ones and 1 cutoff.

Pike are starting to move up for the big feed. With water temps at 63.4 and falling, steam rolling off the water, brisk North winds and my favorite sign, the coots have begun to flock up on the lake during their migration. It's only going get better in Oct.

After harassing the pike for a while we opted for some smallie action fishing from 24 to 28 fow. On our first spot the bass were bunched up relatively heavy and we managed 14 smallies. The bite very light and frustrating at times but, persistence usually pays off and it did.

The other spots were not working as well and we found the fish more scattered with only one here and there. I don't like to hide from the wind and weather so it was cold and windy on all our spots today. My crew paid the price but it was worth it for them.

As far as boat traffic for the rest of the season, don't worry about it any more. When I got home my Friday client left a message for me to call. I already figured out in advance what that was about. When I returned his call he decided to wimp out on Fridays trip *#^8*! I'll be back out on Saturday.

See ya on the water,
