Geneva Report for Mon 6/7/10

This morning I had the winner of the Cancer Treatment Centers of America Geneva trip auction Ken Smith. Ken decided to bring along pals Chuck and Phil. Deservingly so Ken was the one with the hot hand today. Our first spot was along the South shore east of the flats where we encountered an area mixed with L/M & S/M. The action was relatively steady for a good hour. We focused on 12 to 13 fow with multi weed varieties.

It was hard for the boys to stop talking business, but they finally started to concentrate on the fishing. More focus on the fish and less on business started to pay dividends. They were soon sending phone photos to their fans to establish dominance in the field of fishing. Over all we made 5 pit stops with the first stop being #1. During our day we encountered some dandy gills as we would fall off the edges of the breaks at about 20 ft. Gills seemed to be mostly suspended in schools. We fished from 5:00 am to 12:00 pm and the 7 hrs seemed to fly by.

See ya on the water,

Lee

**I've always been of two minds about fly-fishing. On the one hand, here's a guy standing in cold water up to his liver throwing the world's most expensive clothesline at trees. A full two-thirds of his time is spent untangling stuff, which he could be doing in the comfort of his own home with old shoelaces, if he wanted. The whole business costs like sin and requires heavier clothing. Furthermore, it's conducted in the middle of black fly season. Cast and swat. Cast and swat. fly-fishing may be a sport invented by insects with fly fishermen as bait. And what does the truly sophisticated dry-fly fisherman do when he finally bags a fish? He lets the fool thing go and eats baloney sandwiches instead. On the other hand, he wouldn't be completely happy doing any other kind of fishing.
