I have been having issues with the water not squirting through the merc outboard. It will quit all together sometimes sometimes it will dribble and occasionally I will get lucky and have a full stream. (Although it sounds like it I am sure its not a prostate issue ). Now this occurs with the boat on Rush Lake when my friend took it to another lake for a long weekend it did not have this same issue and when I first put it back in the water it had a strong flow. The boat is on the water all the time tied to the dock. Anyone have any suggestions or had similiar issues?

Brother-in-law had a similar issue.  Water quit flowing, motor got hot.  Turns out some algea had plugged the water way.  Quick shot of air fixed it.

Other things to look at might be the water pump or the thermostat.  Good luck.  :happy1:

Sounds like the water impeller/water pump is going. If it has not been changed in the last few years that is where I would start to look. After making sure the intake is clear of and weeds.

I had a problem like that. I had little pieces of gravel in the water intake line. I was typically able to blow them out with my mouth. Took most of the summer to get rid of all of them.

Happens to me all the time duck hunting.  Mud gets in the hole where the water shoots out.  Take a piece of wire and jab it in and swirl it around with the motor running.  Should be back to full stream.   I use a bottom bouncer to open it up.  Good luck .

Had that happen, took off the hose and blew threw it and sand came out with some rocks. Worked fine since. If that doesn't fix it I would go Impeller route.
