Very good read, and I couldn't agree more.

Great read. I own lake shore and couldn't agree more on the way some people try to make their cattail shorelines into pristine beaches. I have cattails and only cleared enough so I can get my dock and lift in, which was less than what the DNR gave me a permit for. They protect my shore from erosion and they sure attract a lot of wildlife. I have better dock fishing than most around me also.

Thank you! My hat goes off to you.
The suburbanization of our lakes and of northern Minnesota is heartbreaking to watch. My wife is working on a shoreline restoration presently in Maple Grove. The president of the lake association said he's had at least 15 other residents inquire about similar projects. Maybe it's not too late.
