I had read recently that places that doe groups make home ranges are not as likely to hold bucks
as their home area. They will definately come around looking for does soon I would think though.

Keep the does close, those bucks are starting to chase hot and heavy in some areas.

We have a small piece of property (40 acres) and had not seen a buck all year.  The last time we saw one was February.  Last night I saw a buck for the first time chasing a doe.  We've now spotted scrapes on the property.  If you have does, the bucks will come to you.

My guess is that if you haven't seen any bucks yet, there may not be any around.  Do you have any buck sign?  Scrapes, rubs etc.

In my travels as of late duck hunting, the bucks are moving all over. This past weekend I saw 2 ten points two eights a six, 2 forks and 2 spikes mostly after sunset but one ten and one eight right in the middle of the day....out in the open!! :fudd: :deer: It's almost time boys and girls!!

Sure..... :bs:

Ask Finnpower....he'll verify smarty pants!! Unlike you... we stay awake all weekend long to see these things! :moon:
Saw what looked like an 8 and a ten within a mile of each other on the way into The Hill. Saw the other ten on the way out Friday and The other bucks over the course of coming back and forth so zip it!

2 fawns alone tonight. Mama must be with the big guy. Not sure, but I think they were eating the 30 crab apple trees I planted this year.
