Our final tournament is to be held August 21st at Bald Eagle Lake

ยท  County Park: Public access to Bald Eagle is located within Bald Eagle-Otter Lake Regional Park operated by Ramsey County. Travel north of White Bear Lake on Highway 61 to 120th street (north county line). Turn left at the stoplight, then another left on the west frontage road to 61. The access is about one-half mile south of 120th street.

Plan on registration and pairings with urban kids or kids participating in the Fish-A-Thon to begin at 8:00.  We will have rolls and coffee then, and serve lunch around noon.

Fishing in the boats will be the usual rigging for Bass or Northern in 1 hour to 1.5 hour shuttles.   We have a couple of urban churches partnering with this event so we should see a good turnout.

If you can make it please RSVP, include the number of people your boat can accommodate, and your cell phone so I can contact you while on the lake in case of any pressing needs to get other kids on the water or to locate a child in emergencies.

Thanks for all the support this year.  The boat guides really are the reason kids have so much fun at the lake events.  THANK YOU!!

Be there at 7:30 (8 at the latest).

Rig your rods for bass and northern and plan on fishing in shuttles as we will have more kids than boats. Our rods will be given to the kids and they can use them to fish for sunnies from shore.

If any of you MWO folks out there could help out it would be great!!  You aren't going to get a much better feeling than getting kids out fishing in a boat that have never done something like this before. Please help if you can.

I'm looking for tips as well please. I don't fish bass or pike, I catch them by accident most of the time. What are some good ways to rig my rods up to fish these on this lake? I'm willing to go out and by some new tackle and plastics for this (like I need a reason anyway). Just some help so these kids can catch fish is what I'm asking for.

Shane,
Casting buzz baits over & through the weeds can be productive as well as hitting the weed line with spinner baits.

I wish you would have said something sooner...cause I would be there.
I'm booked for this month, so that kinda puts the kabosh to that.....

spinners and rapalas(fire tiger color) also can go wrong with a good old fashioned daredevil. various colors i tend to favor the perch colored one because i get the best results with them. now this isnt for that particular lake but it shouldnt be all that different. just target weed lines. as for bass i dont have much experience in that area.
