Lazer all the way!  I bough a 5" lazer many a year ago for early season.  I use it till the ice is about 12" thick.  Takes little time and effort to open up the holes, plus you can re-open holes with a lazer.

Good Luck!

spend the extra money and get the lazer!!  drilling holes is no problem, an if u have 2 guys, you can drill ice 1 foot thick in under 30 seconds.  mora just does not have the cutting power

I would stay away from Mora.  I have an 8" mora hand auger and even with new blades I have to take a break when cutting holes.  I'd go with the Laser.
