doing pretty good here. I have not connected so far, but I missed an offhand shot yesterday at a doe at about a hundred and ten yards or so, kinda hurried the shot and missed her clean, but she looked as if she was about to get the hell out of dodge.
I have passed on several does and one spike. the only day I didnt see anything was opener??
today we sat in a new spot in bagley and we had to leave early  for a funeral visitation.
the other fellow hunting with us stayed and saw Mr. Big come out right where we were watching
just a few minutes after we left  >:(

oh well, he should be there for muzlim loader season. the last day of rifle season was today over there.

one more week of rifle here, so I am hopeful, as allways. I have a few honey holes up my sleves. lets see how good they are ::)

take a kid hunting and fishing!!

Well the guys came back early on Sunday because they said NOTHING is moving... We only have 4 deer (Two spikes, 1 smallish 3pt, and a big doe) for 12 guys. I have no clue where they all could be, especially the does. The last two years we (they) have taken more bucks (one nice 6, the rest spikes or forks ) then does. The past two months my dad had only been seeing does and the bucks had gone away for the most part.  Now it's all small bucks and NO DOES...  ??? ???

They even went walking WAY WAY back in the swamp and said there is sign everywhere but just nothing moving around. Hopefully they think no one is up on third weekend and walk out on me...

Slow for me as well.

Was up at the in-laws cabin by Hackensack and it was slow there.   Seen a couple does but thats it.

All I wanna know is, are we going to be cramped?

Not one deer moving this morning.

I think all the deer headed South for the winter.

shot a doe on sat. Not much moving friday or sat.

sunday never hunted (make sausage - pork and venison). Stepped outside to put the sausage in the vechile and saw the biggest live buck during deer season in the field with 4 does. It ran away as someone stopped on the road ....

Well another year of slug hunting has come and gone and no 30 pointer to put on the wall. My hat is off to all the people that bagged a deer this year. I went four days this weekend with out seeing a deer.

Now its time to relax and have a few beers and think about ice.

Time to drag out the fish house and sharpen the spear.

Well done with the gun season, now time to focus on the muzzleloader and still time to get out bow hunting.

I got two more does last weekend and that was all my group got.  Both deer were shot on drives which seemed to be the only way the deer would move.  My group ended up getting 10 deer for 9 guys and that was more than enough.

up in this neck of the woods, or would that be prairie,or should it be farmland, anyway, awesome hunting, or as our group philosopher says, it really isn't hunting around here any more, it is more like just harvesting, we seen a lot of deer and we harvested a lot of deer, and this year mostly bucks, wether it was out of the stands or on drives, a lot of deer both ways, the highlight of the year was for my younger sister, she had a six year dry spell and then bammm, or would that be bam, bam, bam,
three in one drive out of the stand, one happy girl, and with a lever action, open sight 30-30. i'm sure her students in tonka have heard nonstop stories of this hunt everyday now.  will try to get up some pics soon of the harvest. ;D

He shot it Monday morning and it's a 6" Spike  ::) that we have seen before.  He also saw a doe and fawn that he couldn't get a shot off at.  The snow (2") has really made them move around more.

Maybe some more snow and cold late this week and ths weekend looks good.
