Lake Osakis – Holiday Resort, Adam, 115 miles west of Twin Cities on I-94W, take 71N to Co Rd 10W to Falcon Dr in Osakis, www.lakeosakisresorts.com (320-859-4360)
The last warm snap brought a few diehards out onto the water; the folks that put their time in were rewarded with some nice messes of walleyes.  Coon point was the best, with many 16-18 inchers being caught.  Jigging with redtails in 24-30 feet of water during the day.  Late afternoon and evening, the fish have been moving really shallow onto the rocks, casting rapalas and light jigs around coon point and moon bar have seen mixed results.  Probably the last week of open water.  The big lake is about half froze, and the north end is starting to seal up.  This week's predicted cold snap should end the open water season on Osakis.

GLENWOOD - Fish On Bait & Sport, Kyle, 201 S Franklin St, 2 blocks south of stoplights in Glenwood, www.habitatnow.com (320-634-3667)
Fish On Bait and Sport reports several boats out on Lake Minnewaska over the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Temperatures where mild and the ice cleared off by the landings.  Good numbers of walleyes were being caught out from the "School Bar" in 16 to 20 ft. of water.  Walleyes were also being caught on Priest's Point.  Some walleye die-hards reported catching half limits or more.  And we thought everyone put there boats away.  Temps this week might keep Minnewaska open and the fishing will continue.  There were several infield after the Wiley rooster over the holiday as well.  Many were finding there birds and others were just thrilled to see so many birds.  I got out for a quick two on Friday and then hit the stand for muzzleloader opener on Saturday.  Seen a lot of does in feeding patterns but not many bucks.  I didn't think the rut had peaked yet and hoped to see more antlers.  It will be time to target food sources from now on and hopefully see some bucks chasing does in a week or two with the second rut kicking in with the does that did not get bred the first time.  Pope County has a lot of public land for anyone to come out and chase some roosters on as well muzzleloading deer.  Pope County promises to be a good destination for you and your dog if you are looking for some pheasants.
Everyone go to church and pray for some ice!

STARBUCK - Minnewaska Bait, Larry Jensen, Hwy 29 near the Starbuck Marina (320-239-2239)
We are waiting for ice now.  Some nice walleyes were caught over the thanksgiving weekend of the point out from the high school.  Lots of pressure still on the area pheasants from hunters.  And there are still a lot of geese around in the area, the highest numbers we’ve seen in years.

PARK RAPIDS - Delaney's Sport Center, Kevin, East 1st Street, www.delaneyssports.com (218-732-4281)
We are waiting for ice.  A few of the area smaller lakes are skimming over at night, and with the cold weather this week, a calm night will get us fishable ice hopefully after this weekend.

PELICAN RAPIDS - Park Region Sport Shop, Lee Brenna, Intersection of Interstate 59 and 108 in downtown Pelican Rapids (218-863-5701)
No fishable ice around, just enough at the boat launches to make it tough to get out.  With the cold weather this week, there might be some guys sneaking out on some of the bays this weekend.  Be careful!  Call us for the latest ice reports.
