    • Fishing & Hunting South Dakota's Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe
The smelt run is in full swing on lower lake Oahe. Cat fishing excellent on big lake. Salmon fishing slow with 1 to 3 Salmon in 7 lb range the avg. Most fishing for Salmon around intakes over 30 to 40 feet. Walleye fishing on Lower Oahe poor due to cold water but should get started as temps warm up. Lake Sharpe in Pierre area trafficky and not as good as it was but west bend area going much better than it was. People that know that area getting limits but even there late spring has bite behind for this time of year. Jigs/minnows bottom bouncer/minnows baits of choice for walleye/smallmouth with smelt/cut bait best for pike and catfish. Full pool all up an down system. Lots of water should translate to a great fishing summer for all.
