What do you guys think the extended weather forecast will do to the ice in the metro area?  When I looked at the forecast it looks like we are in for quite a warm up.  I hope it doesn't hurt the ice too much as I am itching to get out there after the fish.  What's your opinion?

I don't think that it will hurt it too much, it wont add any ice but it wont melt any either, with the cooler temps at night.

blazer, just watch out  for areas with current that have frozen over, the ice will retreat there the quickest.
rain will also beat the heck out of the new ice.
rain is ice's biggest enemy.
that is what usually kills the ice in the spring.
as stated earlier, we wont be making much, but with temps above during the day, and below freezing at night it will be a wash.
if it makes you feel safer, head up north where the ice is thicker.
6-8 inches being reported around here.

be careful out there! :)
take a kid hunting and fishing!!

Like everyone said it should be a wash with the night time temps. It's 8 or 9 inches around here and havn't been losing any.

I did have to tell my buddy to get his dakota back on shore for safety sake. Although it's good ice there could be a spot that ain't got 8 inches of it.
