Happy 4th of July!  We’ve had great weather Happy so far for the holiday weekend.  Fishing has been great for some, and not so good for others.  Runoff from the rain south of here, turned the Rainy River muddy.  The murky water worked its way into the south end of the lake.  While the bite slowed on the south end, good fishing continued across the lake where anglers found cleaner water.  Lots of trophies and slot fish were reported from our charters.  Leeches seemed to work the best out deep, but others had luck using shiners and pulling plugs in shallower water.

The water is warming up and a few boats have been using downriggers.  The good news is the river has cleaned up and fishing should be back to normal on the south end soon.  It looks like a great week for weather with mostly sunny and highs in the mid 70s being the norm.

We still have room on our charters this week.  Book now and let us do the work while you reel ‘em in.  Who knows, maybe that trophy walleye you’ve been dreaming about is there waiting for you.  Til next time…
