What does everyone use/preference...i.e. Dead Down Wind...Hunters Specialties?  I have never used them before and I am now hunting in a new area with more pressure so I figured I would try it this year.

I use Scent Killer as well.
When I am bow hunting, I will use the regular stuff (white bottle), but once shotgun season starts or its later bow season, I will use the Autumn scent (Camo bottle), especially on my boots and legs - it will keep the decaying leave smell, I will also just get some dirt on my boots before i walk out to the stand.  -- as you can tell, it pretty much depends how I am feeling and how much work I want to do.
I will also occasionally use Tinks69 Estrus on the boots, if I feel like walking around my stand.

dead down wind nothing works better JMO
Hunting is not life and death. It is more important than that.

Besides a scent free clothing wash, nothing else.  Play the wind and sit still.
Take a kid hunting and fishing... It'll be the best thing for generations to come.

this is something im crazy about. scent control is the biggest factor. i use dead down wind for everything. i have spray for putting on at the truck and i also carry a small bottle with me to the stand. i dont use any earth scent or pine scent. my theory on that is, why buy scent lok or scent blocker if your going to spray scent on them? wind is also a big factor. for deer scent i use code blue. yes it is a bit more expensive(30.00 a bottle or something like that) but it really works. ok done with my rant now

i think the flavor is green apple, i dont know if it works or not. its only 3-4 dollars a bottle(pretty small bottle). like i said i also wear a scent lok full head cover so only my eyes are showing and the carbon in the head cover absorbs alot of the breath/hair scent(thats the theory). also shower with dead down wind soap and shampoo/body wash.

also i hunt high to avoid any lingering scent. i hunt with my climber at about 28-30 feet up also helps you get away with a little more movement then you would at 15ft, always wear a safety harness as well, just a side note!

I know this is going to sound strange, but plain old Ivory soap works exceptionally well.  When you shower in the morning, use nothing but Ivory soap.  Even wash your hair with it.  I know that when I smell the bar it seems to have a scent but for some reason the deer don't mind it at all.  I've had days where I've watched 20+ deer walk right by my stand, some directly under me, and not a single one so much as looked my direction or acted fidgety.  The nice thing about Ivory soap is you can by a 4 pack for about $3 compared to paying more than that for a single bar of special "unscented" soap at your local sporting goods store.

Next thing is to wash your clothes (All of them!) with undyed and unscented laundry detergent.  I use Purex.  Then run a load of clean towels through your dryer without a dryer sheet.  I do this so that the towels absorb some of the dryer scent.  Once those come out, then dry your clothes, again, without a dryer sheet.  Once they are dry, hang them outside overnight to air out.  ALL of them, including your socks and undies.

Follow this advice and I guarantee you will see more deer.

Just remember that it tends to be cold outside around deer season, especially at 4am, so it's usually a good idea to go outside and get your clothes off the line BEFORE you shower.  Made that mistake once, won't do it again.
