Ok....here's the scoop...
I went to Fleet Farm and bought a Markum VX-1P (it was on sale for 249 plus they gave you a $50 gift card for Fleet Farm) So....figure, 2 hundo for the package, anaway....

As I was walking up to the counter, the dude was telling me that they interfer with FL-8's and can't be fished to close together (guess what else I have?.....an FL-8) He said "You can click your IR button as much as you want, and can't stop the interferance"

Has anybody else have, or heard of this problem?

Guess the boy will have to fish outside, 30 yards away, in the cold...while I'm in the nice warm house with my FL-8..........  :rotflmao:

I had a similar problem many years ago with two units in the boat but they were not flashers. When I turned one on the other would fade out. Since then I contact the manufacture and give him the specs to see if my units will be are compatible.

If it was the Fleet Farm in Blaine and you go there again without stopping by for a Grain Belt you may run into more interference.

When i use my marcum next to my friends vex, his vex works fine but i will get some interferiance.  Its not to bad.  It used to bother me but i'm used to it now.  I can still see the bait and any fish worth catching.  Not the little ones bobby bass catches.

Welp, we'll be going out today to give'r a shot.... I'll report back with the results.  :fishing:

Ken, that's funny that you mention that..cause your name was brought up in the conversation on the way down. Mama said we didn't have time to stop (much to my dismay) she had other plans for the afternoon, and our time line was running behind.  :sorry:

We tried it out and did not have much interference between the 2 units, only fishing them 6 feet apart. Both have I.R. buttons, and could adjust to clear both screens of clutter.  :happy1:

Glad to hear No problems HD.  I fish in a Snobear which is quite enclosed....8ft  there are 4 holes for fisherman with a chair for each hole.   If I fish with one other person doesnt matter what two types of sonar are used.  Marcum/Vex/Hummingbird.  Now if you put 4 together and one is a marcum...watch out...there might be a seizure from the interferance.  Hummingbird with two Vexilar.. no problems.    Last night took some guys out with three Hummingbirds 55's -and one Vexilar Fl 20 and no problems. I had expected a lot of interference between the Birds but didnt see it.  Friday afternoon had three in the bear.. Bird55, Bird 35, vex20 and the Bird 25 had a Lot of interference unable to clear up.

Yea, but, it was hard to beat...to get a whole unit, ice ready, for 200 bucks.
