Moving to MN

So I'm from Arizona and considering following a girl to Minnesota in the near future. I'm an avid hunter and spend most of my free time chasing deer, elk, and javelina around. I also do a fair amount of quail and duck hunting when I'm not chasing big game. Long story short, I'm either hunting or scouting most of the year and it's a huge part of my life. I'm a little worried about moving and it looks like this may be a good forum to ask ya'll a few questions about the hunting there:

Hows the hunting? Are there many trophy animals? How accessible is Canada for moose and how hard is it to get drawn? Is it mostly public or private land in MN? How hard is access and how much are trespass fees?

I'll definitely be in the Minneapolis area, probably around Mounds View. And I'll have access to about 80 acres of her families land around Taylor's Falls in Wisconsin to hunt. Any comments or suggestions about the hunting in general would be much appreciated!

I think hunting Minnesota is real good,  no drawing here for deer, Some places there drawing for does, and in state parks, You will have to live here for 30 day and have a MN address, Deer open day is the first Saturday of November, Elk and moose  Not in the lower 3/4 of the state,  Duck geese, are good the grouse and pheasant is ok but can be good some year, Coyote, fox, and then you can crow hunt, if your looking for some fun hunting, Bear,  hunt are drawing, This fall will have the first wolf hunt that open on deer opener,

This state as good trapping, as well as fishing, bother open water and Ice fishing,

The hunting is great in MN there a ton of public land to hunt just depends how far you want to drive. If you want waterfowl there all over if ya want deer there everywhere and bear have been wondering into St.Paul so I think theres a good number of them as well. Fishing is killer theres so many lakes is easy to find fish.
This state could keep you scouting 365 days a year and there is some real nice trophies to be had if ya do your homework. If the lady friend means a lot to you follow her here you will definitely not lose out on the hunting

There is a Minnesota moose hunt . If you are grawn in the lottery it is a once in a lifetime shot. The moose numbers have been dropping radically almost as fast as the wolf popultion increases.The studies on them to find out what they are dying from are pretty inconclusive. Usually when a collared moose gives off a mortality signal by the time the researchers get to the animal the carcass has been devoured. Go figure. There are many opportunities to hunt Canadian Moose but be willling to pay. Ruffed grouse are fun to hunt and that would be new to you. there is also a wolf season here. canada moose hunting, from what i,ve heard is you need to apply and get your license thru a guide or outfitter. also depends on your definition on spendy?????????? its not cheap. and if ya happen to have a whiskey ticket, them guys at the border stink!
